Call for Applications: EMH Technical Advisory Committees

The Energy Modelling Hub (EMH) is inviting applications to join one of its three Technical Advisory Committees (TACs):

  1. Open Data Governance and Quality Assurance,

  2. Open-Source Modelling Platform, and

  3. Knowledge Exchange, Training, and Policy Impact.

These committees play a critical role in providing expert guidance, sharing best practices, and ensuring that EMH initiatives align with the needs of the energy modelling community.

By joining a TAC, members contribute to EMH’s mission of supporting evidence-based policymaking for a net-zero economy, fostering inclusivity, generating economic and social benefits, and supporting Canada’s transition to a decarbonized, affordable, reliable, and equitable energy system. Their expertise helps shape key initiatives, enhance data governance, improve modelling tools, and strengthen knowledge exchange between researchers, policymakers, and industry stakeholders.

Commitment

  • Active Participation: Members are expected to participate in all quarterly meetings to maintain an engaged and effective committee.

  • Volunteer Engagement: This is a volunteer role, with members contributing their time and expertise without financial compensation.

  • Time Investment: Members should anticipate dedicating 2 to 5 hours per quarter to reviewing EMH deliverables and providing feedback.

  • Working Group Involvement: Participation in working groups or subcommittees may be required to advance specific TAC and EMH objectives.

  • Continued Membership: Ongoing membership is contingent on meeting these commitments to ensure meaningful contributions to the committee’s work.

Interested individuals can review the Terms of Reference (TOR) for more details about EMH Technical Advisory Committees.

To apply, please fill out this form before February 21, 2025.
