Date: Thursday, January 16, 2025
Time: 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM (ET)

We are pleased to invite you to the kickoff webinar for the thematic semester on Decision Support for the Energy Transition, organized by the Group for Research in Decision Analysis (GERAD). This event, co-hosted with the Energy Modelling Hub (EMH), will mark the start of a series of enriching discussions on tools and approaches to support the transition to a sustainable energy future

Program
The webinar will be moderated by Normand Mousseau, Professor of Physics at Université de Montréal, Scientific Director of the Trottier Energy Institute (IET), and Co-Scientific Director of the EMH.

Following a brief introduction to GERAD and its thematic semester by Olivier Bahn, Professor at HEC Montréal and Director of GERAD, two inspiring presentations will enhance this session:

Jesse D. Jenkins
Assistant Professor and expert in large-scale energy systems engineering, Princeton University. He leads the Princeton ZERO Lab, where he develops optimized models to guide low-carbon technology policies and investments.

Dr. Erica Thompson
Author of the book Escape from Model Land, Associate Professor at University College London, and an expert in decision-making modeling. Her research focuses on interpreting models to inform policies and strategic decisions.

This webinar is a unique opportunity to gain fresh insights and engage with renowned experts on the challenges and solutions of the energy transition.
