Integrated Energy Modelling Workshop at EPEC 2025
October 15–17, 2025 | Waterloo, ON
As part of the IEEE Canada Electrical Power and Energy Conference (EPEC 2025), the Energy Modelling Hub (EMH) and SESIT (University of Victoria) will host a hands-on workshop on integrated energy modelling. EPEC 2025 is Canada’s premier annual conference on electrical power and energy, bringing together industry professionals, researchers, academics, and policymakers to explore the future of smart and sustainable energy systems.
The workshop will introduce the M3 Platform, an open-source, integrated modelling framework combining data (CODERS), models, and visualization tools (IDEA). A key focus will be the CIMS–COPPER–SILVER workflow, which links energy demand, capacity expansion, and dispatch models to assess the policy impacts on energy systems.
Participants will gain practical experience with M3’s capabilities and explore how this approach supports transparent, evidence-based policymaking in the context of Canada’s decarbonization goals.
