I have been modelling GHG projections at ECCC for the last 12 years. I also worked for two years with Alberta Environment on climate change issues. I have a MA (international environmental policy) from the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy, USA and a BSc(Biochemistry) from Guelph University.
Supervised four analysts developing GHG projections using a microeconomic-macroeconomic model (E3MC). Prepared historical energy data for input into E3MC to generate GHG projections for Canada. Modeled and assessed the impacts of the Pan-Canadian Framework on Climate Change (PCF) and other climate change policies on Canadian GHG emissions, energy prices and macroeconomic indicators. Identified and implemented improvements to the GHG modeling framework. Collaborated with federal and provincial counterparts to ensure accurate reporting of GHG projections in Canada’s Emissions Trends. Participated on the Expert Review Team for Portugal’s 7th National Communications and 3rd Biennial Report to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Contributed to the development of a national greenhouse gas reporting program. Analyzed emissions data and presented results at working group meetings with industry and other federal departments.
